For the carat, it is about the size of the diamond. The 1carat of diamond equals to 0.20 gram. When the carat size of diamond increases, the diamond’s price increases at an increasing rate. Because fewer than one of million mined rough stones are large enough to produce a 1carat diamond.

The tip that the buyers can save the money and get the cheaper diamond price is you should look for diamonds that fall just under popular carat weights such as 1 ct., 2 ct., 3ct. etc. Because these diamonds are often sold at a slight discount compared to diamonds of full weight. For example, a 0.90 carat diamond will normally cost less on a carat-price than a full 1.00 carat diamond. Visually, they are difficult to identify.

All the diamonds are unique because diamonds formed deep within the earth, under extreme heat and pressure. So every single piece has the different birthmarks both of the internal (Inclusion) and external (Blemish). According to the GIA International Diamond Grading System, diamonds contain 11 clarity grades that range from flawless (FL) to diamonds with obvious inclusions (I3).

Look for the diamonds that are in the level of VS to IF because the diamonds that are in SI and I level, a lot of damage can be seen easily. For the FL level is extremely expensive and very rare in the market.

It is another important factor to consider for buying diamond. Cutting is the factor to make the diamond fire, sparkle and brilliance. According the GIA International Diamond Grading System, it contains 5 levels for the cut scale which are excellent, very good, good, fair and poor.

Look for the diamonds that are excellent and very good only because the major thing that makes diamond beautiful are fire, sparkle and brilliance.

In the industry standard, diamonds are valued by how closely they approach colorlessness – the less color, the higher their value. (The exception to this is fancy color diamonds.)
